 100 Nights of Remembrance Minimize

Mount Calvary Cemetery and Mausoleum is proud to announce the fourth year of the Manchester chapter for 100 Nights of Remembrance. This program will recognize the veterans that are interred in our beautiful Catholic Cemetery. The West High School ROTC will be coordinating the program.

The starting ground for this program began at the New Hampshire State Veteran Cemetery located in Boscawen, New Hampshire. The 100 Nights of Remembrance is an organization made up of volunteers from all walks of life. Players range from business professionals to laborers, young and old, male or female, students to retirees, former military to active duty and many more. All have come together with a common goal, which is to show respect and honor for all Americans who have sacrificed and served our country honorably in any branch of the United States Armed Forces.

The center of activity in recognizing this goal is the hallowed grounds of Mount Calvary Cemetery and Mausoleum located in Manchester, New Hampshire. At precisely 7:00 PM, every evening a bugler is available from Memorial Day through September 11th, 2013 a series of 24 solemn notes will flow through the air to honor the men and women resting on these sacred grounds. Those 24 notes, known as TAPS, are sounded by at least one member of The 100 Nights of Remembrance. Quite often another member will join in and play a very moving echo taps.
Our opening ceremony will immediately follow the Memorial Day Mass at 9:00 on Monday May 27, 2013. Please join us in honoring our fallen veterans that are buried in these sacred grounds.
Please use the following link to sign up to help sound taps. We are always looking for volunteer horn players.

Ever since the Sacred Body of our Crucified Savior was reverently laid in the tomb awaiting the hour of its glorious Resurrection, the Church has surrounded the burial of those who hope to rise with Christ, with an atmosphere of deep Christian faith and belief of the resurrection of the body. As witness to that faith, the Church sets apart and solemnly blesses the place in which the bodies of her faithful departed await the day of Resurrection.

Mount Calvary Cemetery is firmly committed to the teaching and tradition of the Roman Catholic Church with regard to the burial of the deceased and the sacredness of the cemetery grounds. We will proclaim through our words and deeds the Christian virtue of hope, the belief in the resurrection and the sacredness of the human body.

We are committed to encouraging Catholic prayer and devotion for the deceased and their families. Mount Calvary Cemetery is also committed to the maintenance and beautification of these Cemetery grounds in order to insure their sacred character.
